HELP! Leak getting in trunk
Leak in trunk keeps getting my sub amp wet. I believe it is coming from the rear windshield wiper does anyone know if they make a rear windshield wiper delete kit to fix this? It seems from all the vibration the rubber around the edges has worn down allowing water to get into the trunk. Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks!

RTV is pretty thick, i believe you'll just make a big mess(unless you dont care how clean it looks). i recommend window clear sealant; its made for such things. it still dries to similar consistency to RTV but its much thinner so goes into cracks. its whats used when installing windows.
are you sure its the rear wiper area? also examine the rubber lining that curves around the opening of the trunk itself.

I just noticed last week during the series of storm that a puddle of water would collect on the wooden baffle over the spare tire. At first i thought it was windshield wiper fluid but it turned out to be water (taste test). lol Has any one had success with RTV/silicone?
get in your trunk with a flashlight and have someone pour water from a hose over the area and see if it is actually the offender...and then I would first take it out and clean the mating surfaces of the window and the rubber seal and then reinstall and see if it is still leaking. RTV is a patch and not a fix. If this did not fix the leak, then I would get the correct window sealant as stated by mifesto.

This is a little off the wall but if all else fails you might want to check.
To hold the trim at the base of the rear glass most car makers spot weld little tabs that the trim snaps onto. On older Mitsu's, instead of doing this, the trim had little plastic tabs that snapped through the metal of the car. Each tab had a foam rubber gasket. Over time the gasket would rot and water would leak into the car.
Hopefully, this design has been changed but I have never looked on my Evo.
