some questions about buying used evo 8

Im new to evos and wanted to buy a evo, it has about 63,000 miles on it. I was wondering how often the turbos have to be maintainenced and if there is any way to tell if the car isnt running properly. Also when you get your cars serviced, I heard that you have to get high performance matnience done. How much does this cost? Also any other things to look for would be great. Thanks!

Car fax never hurts either. Buying a used car like an evo is very tricky and you have to be super careful. Having good mechanic friends or someone you know check it out with you. Using myself as an example, I bought one not too long ago and it only had 25K miles so I figure oh m yeah its good and has been babied, an 05 with that low miles sweet! Two months barely driving it and the motor is completely toasted! just something to think about. You never know about previous owners.

I agree with PDCC. EVOs aren't your typical cars, and people who own these are usually ethusiasts. They are mostly the type that doesn't keep the car tame by any means. It's a fun car so what do you expect the owners to do?

I'd definately check into the previous owners. If there's 3-4, I'd be weary on an evo. A buick regal with 4 owners? Sure, but an evo with 4 owners, I'd be a little more careful.

The more mods on the EVO, the less chance I will get that car.
