Best thread ever. I would never take off the wing on my Evo.

[quote=cs82685;8786545]To those making the argument that the wing doesn't attract more attention from cops. Ever think people remove the wing to keep from attracting attention from others? I'm a professional and don't want to look ridiculous showing up to my clients offices with a four door sedan with a park bench on the back of it.

I think the car looks great with the wing on, but choose not to have it so I don't look immature to clients or other co-workers.

I also think wingless looks clean.

I sometimes run with a lancer wing on the car too, every time I change, I like each of the looks, the lancer wing (without the center post) reminds me of the older m3 wings.

Maybe the evo isnt the perfect work car after all. Maybe you should go with a more client-friendly car like a saab or chevy cruze. With or with out spoiler its still a damn evo

[QUOTE=e4on2e5;8782777]REASONS WHY OWNERS REMOVE THERE WING... (note that i did not say "why u should")

SAVES WEIGHT:
I haven't had the time to properly weigh a factory evo wing... but im assuming it does have a little weight to it... if u've taken one off ur evo then u would know... pop the trunk on a winged evo and all u hear is the sound... pop the trunk on a wingless evo and u swear that bit*h is goin to fly off the car...

LMAO... i took my wing off yesterday and bam, seemed like it was gonna fly through the back glass!!

I like the look of Wingless Evos best I only drive around town so no high speeds for me so I don't need a wing that much

I have both.

RS trunk, and a wing'd trunk.

For "those" days...

wingless looks good with a JDM rear bumper.

my preference is for the wing. the wing makes an evo an evo.

The wing covers the rust on my trunk lid. I have to say it seems like I get better mileage without it.

Well that's just silly, considering most people don't even know what an evo is outside of the car world. And to those people, my car just looks like a grocery getter. The black also hides some of the sharp lines of the evo, the hood vent is less noticeable, etc. My evo has been the perfect work car. I get so-so mileage (right around 22mpg over the life of the car) I can fit people (co-workers) and other stuff in the back when I need to, and unlike most sports cars I can DD it through NE winters.

I have a toned down enough looking car to not get strange looks or questions from clients or coworkers and a car that is still enjoyable to me to drive every day.
