It doesnt happen all the time... When im coming to a stop and i press my clutch in so i can brake without gearing down the rpms drop (naturally to 1k ofcoarse with clutch engaged) but then they go really low (2-300rpm) and the car shuts off... The higher the rpm when i engage the clutch the more likely it will happen... If i downshift while coming to a stop, im ok... if i give a lil gas before rpm goes below 1k, im ok... press clutch w/no gas, not ok...
Has this ever happened to anyone before...?
What do u guys think the problem is...?

Do you live where it is cold? Maybe you should do a compression test. Also have you added mods or done maintenance anytime recently?

I had this happen because of the previous owner had a venting BOV.
Changed to stock. Running excellent. I would test the IAC to make sure its working proper.

Whats mods do you have? If you have cams, then your tuner should have adjusted the setting to prevent stalling.
i got the car with 138k... it drives without any problems (except for the one mentioned)... i do not know if the car has cams or not... i do not hear any noticeable looping with idle so im guessing it doesnt... i've jus recently installed new ic pipes (all), intake, car came with full tbe... thats it performance wise...

I am having the same issues with my '03. I checked for boost leaks and had nothing. I ordered an IAC so hopefully that will solve the issues. Everything points to that so we'll see when I get off this deployment

I have an EVO ix MR and i require your help!
So today i changed my stationary idle from ~7897(came like that from the previous owner) to 5500 to add a 2 step. I tested it without launching and right after i tested it, i noticed that the rpm is lower by around 200rpm during idle compared to its norm. Later when i was driving (Efficiently
), all of a sudden when i would lift OFF the throttle the rpm would spike down to around 300 from what i can see, then jump back up to around 1000, then go back down and it keeps doing that from about 2 -3 seconds until it eventually shuts off the car. This also happens when i push the clutch in. So then i thought maybe i changed something up in the map while i was adding the very basic 2 step, so i loaded the original map onto it thinking it would revert everything. Nope!!!, it did not work. Even thou my stationary rpm is back to where is used to be (~7897), that issue has not gone away. Do you guys i messed something up while i was testing it? Maybe the O2 sensor in my O2 housing since it controls your idle indirectly (From what i heard, i may be wrong or confused), any other suggestions?
