EVO vs. 2.5T Legacy - anyone else fence-sitting?
Damn sexy even if it's not as raw as the Evolution or the STi. What I found more surprising is that the Legacy Spec B (2.0 liter engine with 275 hp, 5 speed) kicked the Audi RS6's butt.

Yeah, awhile ago I really considered getting an STi or an EVO. Now I'm thinking I can have 90% of the performance with some creature comforts and some more room thrown in for the same, if not less $$ (when considering the STi's $32k pricetag).
Oh, and here's a rearview, though not of a USDM Legacy. We'll have to wait about a month to see exactly what the USDM Legacy will bring.

Sorry, that was the link to the thread.
Here's the direct link to the vid (off the thread) where the Legacy Spec B kicks the Audi RS6's butt on track:

That link didn't work either. I'd heard that on NASIOC, though I haven't actually seen the vid. The problems with the RS6 is that it weighs a ton (actually just about 2 tons
). Pretty impressive anyway, given the nearly 200 hp that the Legacy was giving up.
I just got here, but I heard the EVO will possibly be the recipient of a displacement increase. That should light a fire under Subaru's butt.
This is an awesome time to be a performance car enthusiast, that is for sure.

Argh, ok, maybe if I'm in a good mood (all depends on this comp sci program), I'll host the video on a site for people to download.
In the vid, the reason the RS6 lost is because even though it has massive power, it had too much weight to carry through a tight track like Tsukuba. For this reason, I wished that the Evos and STis would lose weight. Over 3000lbs, wet weight or dry weight is getting porky in my opinion.

The lightest new JDM Legacy (US specs aren't out yet) comes in at 3165 lbs. Certainly no lightweight but lighter than the Subaru's own STi and certainly far lighter than much of its sport sedan/wagon competition (by hundreds of pounds in most cases).
Ok I'm not sure if someone in the last few posts has mentioned this but if you have the money, you could always order Thunder Gray paint from Japan and re-paint the car? Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

If someone wants to post a pic of the new TL that would help in comparison.
I can't wait till they're here, though! I want to see the final specs, etc. that the US gets.
