I definitely do not consider the evo x an upgrade. They went away from what the evo was originally designed to be and turned it into a more friendly/comfortable car.

I can understand the movement financially, but for no other reason. That being said, I would love to see an evo x RS that came in at around 3000lbs.

Back on topic though...looks like the OP is a good candidate for a 4g64 block and either a destroked 2.1 or 2.4

why 4g64? I thought it was more displacement but less strength.

The 46g4 is an iron block, just like the 63. It is a very strong block and costs a fraction of the 63.

My rod exited through the block in the same manner on number 4. Seems that is the rod that likes to chuck most frequent. My rod bolts were still firmly attached to the bottom section of the rod left on the crank. No sign of bearing or fastener failure. E-85 with a FP OG 'green'.
Oh btw...415 whp & 400 wtq on a MD . Lasted a couple years though....lol

In the process of getting a built 2.4L installed in my IX RS. GLW your build.

I wouldnt drive an X if it was given to me. Just not my style. And theres not ONE thing in the X that id consider an "upgrade".

I completely agree about the X. I considered a 2.4, but ill take the high rev 2.0 being this is really a track only car..

Saw the flames thru the hood scoop. I think it was just the oil burning.. it was only flaming for about 2 or 3 minutes.
