Funky Rattle

Evo's are noisy beast but mine has developed a rattle in the front end after i installed a 3' downpipe. It doesn't make any noise cornering but I get a bit of a rattle when leaving from a dead stop. It's not the suspension, and everything is tight from the install (downpipe, cross beams, etc...) I'm wondering if it might be the undertray. If anyone has any ideas or experience with this I'm all ears. Thanks in advance

would make sense that the downpipe is hitting something

from a stop you are getting some initial engine movement and the exhaust shouldn't be very loud at the lower take off rpm so you hear it easily

it's either hitting the transfer case or possibly the tension bars below...could even be the test pipe touching the underside material from installing the downpipe

downpipe is probably rubbing the sway bar. the sway bar is above the downpipe near where the hangers are

just curious seeing my exhaust is in the mail and might have this problem, was this a hard fix? or just some simple adjusting?

adding exhaust wrap is what i did to cure mine, since then ive changed exhaust setups to an ams tbe and it does not rub the sway bar or tie bars

Pretty simple adjustment but takes time (I've had my DP in and out a few times to get it right) but if your not comfortable making them, any reputable muffler shop could do the same and should not cost you an arm and a leg.

i'm not uncomfortable with it, put exhaust on my sti and mustang no problem and my srt-4 exhaust went on good after i dremeled through my brake lines (little rough patch) lol but i just wanted to see if there was something i had to do to make this not happen.
