I have conti dws on my 8 and i like them alot.. I do have the active center diff. of course its far from a dedicated snow tire.. however if you want a good all season tire i recommend them for snow. The only issue i have noticed with the evo in snow is since the stering is very responsive you find yourself feeling every minor feeling in the wheel. But i wouldnt trade my evo for anything

I have Dunlop Graspic DS-2's on the EVO right now. It handles much better than my 2.5rs with Blizzak WS-50's.

Well so far they have performed just fine, only time they slip is when i turn into a corner on snow. I went up hills with 5~8" of snow and dident slide.

+1

I've owned a WRX and now an Evo.

WRX had good all seasons and it handled flawlessly in 16 inches of snow. Only problem was the snow was so high it was getting difficult to drive over but traction was not an issue at all.

I've only had the Evo for one snow so far and it was about 4 inches. My Evo has brand new snow tires on it. Haven't slipped once in the Evo.

So far I would say the Evo handles better but I haven't driven it in as much snow as I did with my subie.

Having the right tires for the occasion helps a ton. I'm on the General Altimax Artics this season, and they have been great in the Northeastern winter we've been having.

As others have said, it's all about the tires. Even my Mustang GT did ok in the snow with dedicated snow tires

If the last video doesn answer your question the new series of top gear will. Google top gear evo x or you tube it and it should bring it up where they race it down a snowy mountain and talk about how much better it is than an sti.

I got my car in the middle of winter with the toyo's already mounted and although snow tires would be way better, I've been able to get through very serious snow conditions using skill and patience. I will have snow tires on by next winter, but these cars are pretty capable with the right driver.

Tires definitely make it better. The Evo performs just as well as my Jeep is snow (minus the clearance).

I agree I love these damn tires. I prefer driving my Evo in the weather more than my GF's JGC.

Hell winter weather is the reason I bought the 6 years back now. Car isn't even technically my DD anymore. But I drive it probably 4x's as much in the winter then I do when it is nice out

When I first got my evo I was looking forward to snow. I didn't change out the factory advans and it lead to a white knuckle ride it was awful in the snow. I used blizzacks the following year and it was great in shallow and packed conditions. The issue is clearance to much snow and your nose becomes a plow. Tires absolutly make the difference.
