I have owned 3 evos and i never noticed these on any of my cars. I went shopping for a Evo9 SE last week and i noticed theres a hole on the driver side of the radiator support. I searched in show and shine and noticed other evos have them too. I cant figure out what they are for or why some have and some dont have them. Please see pics below. I am just curious what they are for and if they came stock from factory with them because i do not remember any of my 3 evos ever having them.

Sorry. I'm wondering if this has something to do with hid/non-hid headlight adjuster access. I'm subscribing so when the veterans chime in I'll get the answer too. I'm curious as i am trying to find an Evo.

My 8 has HID's, and I've never noticed this. I'll look today.

 

for what its worth i have a 9MR with the headlight adjust switch and no hole there..just checked.

 

ive got a 9 mr and i do not have that hole

 

I cant see the pic at work, but I know what you're talking about. My IX SE has the hole.

 

I'm thinking thats one of those factory hood switch spots like for an alarm or bonnet light.

 

I have a 06 ( Evo 9 ) standard model with a hole !!!

 

It looks like its for the rubber piece that hood sits on is missing. just my guess!

 

That's what i thought at first, but if you look at the pic, he marked red over the rubber bumper.

 

i dont have one. i have a 04. wonder if it has something to do with the year or model?

 

Looks like a spot for maybe a hood prop holder.
Not to get off topic but I have also wondered why some Evos have a 1"x1" small vent built into the dash between the steering column and the radio

 

I believe that is to tell cabin temp.

 

its too bad we didnt get the auto climate control in the US
