I'm getting erratic oil pressure readings with my Defi gauge (needle jumps around, reads zero psi, etc). It generally seems to happen when idling/ in neutral but will act goofy while cruising on occasion as well. I'm not sure if the sensor (plugged into the oil housing) or gauge is causing the issue.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before and if it was the gauge or the sensor that was the problem. I'm not even sure how I would test either part except for swapping in known good units (which I don't have lol).

 

Same here. I used to see the needle around 2 at idle and now i have 1.8 or 1.6. I used AMSOIL 15-50 before and now AMSOIL 10-30. I dont think is the oil though.

 

this happened to me as well and by replacing the sender it went away. it could be the oil sender or a bad connection with the wiring.

 

i'd check the wiring. I had a short once that exhibited similar behaviour
