i took those off but the cover was still on pretty tight so i loosened the idler pulley but couldnt take the bolt completely out because it hit the frame rail but even so the bolt behind the water pump was holding it tight... how do u get around it without removing wp pulley?

I'm trying to remember but it's been awhile since I've done it. I'm going to have to look at the car when I get home. I do know that I had taken everything off in that area anyways, because of the 60k service.

The idler pulley should come off, you won't be able to get it off with a socket and ratchet, you will have to use a wrench. It should definately come out, unless someone put in a longer bolt then put the motor in the car. The factory bolt just barely squeeks out of there, but it will come out.

The water pump pulley does have to come off to be able to get to a timing cover bolt behind it unfortunately.

Don't know if I can answer that one. What I will tell you is that if you find you can't use it, let me know and for the price you paid for it, I will take it off your hands. (Assuming you win/won the auction)

I would love to make a new harness OFF the car.. The key is OFF the car.

You can do it, you just have to find a way to keep the pulley from spinning. I use either two things, my hand wedged down in there, or the end of a hammer I have that has a rubber handle. It sucks, and this is the reason I try to find ways to avoid taking it off. It's just one of those things that sucks.

Did you actually win the auction?

And I sent you a text this morning too...

If you can't find a way to stop the pulley from spinning, most people remove the passenger side motor mount to be able to get more room to stick your hand down in there..

update:

turns out my car started up and i didnt end up having a faulty harness so dont really need to redo my engine harness just yet.. still need to break in my motor so dont want any down time

if anyone is interested...

i ended up recieving the engine harness i got from ebay but it turns out to be the harness that runs from the interior fuse box connectors out to the engine bay fuse box (included) then to the rest of the headlight, fan, radiator, airbags, ac connections etc.. basically everything up front
