Okay, I get that is sucks that they don't want to just sell you a clip ... but if you've needed clips from 2 other manufacturers on several occasions, I think there may be a problem aside from the clutch itself. Or, even if those were for different cars, the clip seems to be a common issue and not limited to Spec.

Personally, I have no issue with my Spec clutch aside from the noise of the 6 puck.

They have a terrible reputation... I wouldn't buy one just based off all the negative comments I've heard.

Sounds like you need a clutch with no clip lol. Sorry to hear about your experience though. One of the reasons that I decided to go with QM instead of SPEC and other clutches was their customer service.

I have had bad experiences with SPEC clutches aswell in my old 01 WS6. Within 3000 miles clutch was slipping, had to redo the whole job..never figured out what went wrong...just reinstalled it and it was fine

its safe to say that mitsubishi did a poor job on designing they're clutch / throwout bearings we can all agree on this...

the point is the way spec ignored me. 3 times after this happend, not offering to help me out, just flat out shutting me up and rushing me off the phone, and the second i call another company, (Exedy + Competition) i was honest with both the companies told them i needed the clip assembly and i was NOT an owner of either of those brand clutches and that it was for a Spec clutch and Competition STILL gave me free clips... Just saying. Thats good customer service

Sounds to me like you're badly in need of a clutch fork stopper...

I popped a few of these rings back when I had my IX; my final solution was 4 of the wavy spring washers and a clutch fork stopper, TOB never came unclipped again

i prefer not to use spec clutches....they dont last, they tear up your transmission, and the refund they promise you never arrives.
