maintain warranty. i spoke to my dealer recently and mentioned i'd done an oil change -- first question he asked: "did you use an oem filter?"

maybe there are dealers who are more lenient, but in my case, they seem to be sticklers.

AMS 2.3 stroker with GT37 turbo.

Motul 300V 15W-50 only true ester for me

if i was going to use Amsoil like everyone else here seems to,i would use the Dominator series oils.that is if you are putting 500+ down.i realize these are expensive and you have to change them more frequently, but like the article said these are racing engines.don't be cheap on oil, come on man.

Built motors have looser tolerances, so most engine builders will recommend 20w-50.

Running Valvoline VR1 20w-50 and a mobil 1 filter on my 2.3

At the rate I do oil changes being on e85 I couldn't imagine running anything else. Can't beat 5.99 a quart for an oil that keeps my turbo happy.

My view. When its hot out, and you beat the hell out your car. Amsoil is good stuff, doesn't pour like some other 20w50s, nice and smooth.

During the summer, and if you plan on beating on the car hard. Also if you use other fuel other than pump gas good idea to use a heavier weight.
