Timing belt job: Car makes loud noise

After installing the timing kit. Everything looks good and it starts great. idles good and it even drives normal and good until she hits 4k rpm then it starts making a loud engine noise.

I did a search on here and found out that the timing belt was a bit too tight that's why it's making that noise.

Could it also be making that noise because the serpentine belt is too tight? Last night i checked the serpentine belt was really tight.

Any feedback would be great!!!

Thanks in advance.

Accessory belt is not adjustable. Read up on balance shaft out of time.

Thx!

Serp belt tensioner could be seized. i just did a belt for someone and the tensioner as seized and wouldn't move.

i'll be sure to double check on the serpentine belt.

i have a feeling we might have done the balance shaft wrong.

Oil pump 180 out with rear balance shaft. Take timing belt back off, line up your timing marks and either

1. insert screwdriver into inspection hole on front of block. If it does not go in 2+ inches then rotate oil pump sprocket 360 and line mark back up. Screwdriver should go in quite a bit further now your good.

2. rotate the oil pump sprocket so the mark on it facing straight up at 12 o clock. Now let it go if it wants to turn clockwise your 180 out if it wants to fall CC toward the timing mark then your good.

aligning the rear balance shaft will require to take the timing belt off again?

Your actually aligning the oil pump to be in phase with the balance shaft. Yes the timing belt will need to come off. How else would you be able to turn the oil pump sprocket

You installed a new sept belt tensioner?
Not a timing belt tensioner, a serp(accessory belt) tensioner.
