Question Man.. Boost leak? or normal. Vid inside

So this is a pull I did out at the track and just watch the gauges. Goes 26 to like 18psi.
I did a boost leak but couldn't find anything, why isn't it holding close to 26 psi? Its a evo 9 turbo.

Ya man, it is the wastegate most likely. Remember the stock IX turbo won't hold 26psi out the top but should be able to hold 22+. Throw a 25psi wastegate on there, but don't pre-load it to much or you will get bad overboost.

Why not try to pre load your current WG a little more if it has adjustment room to see if it holds any better.

There was also a post somewhere where a guy used springs to help get more holding pressure from the stock waste gate. it went from the rod connection point to the flange of the WG body.

I think the stock waste gate is only rated at 11psi.

Take the turn buckle off, remove the nutt, and cut three threads off and then you will have plenty of preload. That is what I did.
