Holy insurance batman!

So, I ship off to Germany June 1st. For the past few months I had planned on taking the car with me. I didnt think much of it being that I pay only $190 per month for my wife and I for insurance now. The military will ship the vehicle for free so I didnt think anything of it. Well after calling USAA today I was informed that in order to insure my vehicle in Germany it will cost me $495 per month! This is absolutely insane being that its almost $300 more a month. Thats another car payement. Has anyone else experienced this? I am honestly thinking I will have to sell the car at this point. This is really sad.

buy a vacuum-sealed car storage bag, rent a storage place, properly set the car to be stored (and buy ****ty tires to store it on), whala! no need to sell that way

Im honestly thinking about storing it. I really do not want to get rid of this car. This situation makes me want to put a bunch of kittens in a burlap sack and set it on fire....then throw it in the ocean.
