well, i actually had a balance shaft bearing failure about 10k miles after switching to AMSOIL (switched from mobil1 at about 50k on the car). But i don't contribute the failure to the oil, but the fact that my motor survived the failure i do contribute to AMSOIL. So I will be using it in my new motor.

I have used amsoil in many different cars over the years and I have had very positive experiences. When my wife got her MS6 it smoked bad under acceleration but one oil change with amsoil almost completely stopped it.

i flushed my TC, trans, and rear diff with amsoil and didn't notice any difference in shifting. not sure if i'd go back to OEM fluids for that stuff.

old thread, but this has still been a question for me. after reading many tests (bob the oil guy, etc) i can't find a reason to switch from Rotella T6. our shop is currently in the middle of filling out paperwork to carry Amsoil.. but it's still quite expensive.

I use AMSOIL exclusively in my tracked evo VIII. Always came back from blackstone with GREAT results.. Rebuilt my head and still using it. Great stuff.. ill try and find one of my old results sheets from a track day.

as does Rotella. i haven't found any real advantages with Amsoil other than a "warm, fuzzy feeling". i'm open to any news someone may have, though. if it's better, i'd use it.

I run Amsoil 20w-50 high zinc in my Evo. I ran Amsoil in my DSM also (20w-50 oil and their racing auto trans fluid). I also like their oil filters.
