How about offering the evoM forumers here a group buy/discount on your SSO series? That way, it will fix the Amsoil vs Mobil 1 challenge.

I wanted to get a consesus of why you use AMSOIL and why not, this is your time to express yourself.

THere is also a poll where you can participate to show if AMSOIL has served it purpose with your car or for whatever else you are using it, bike, boat ect..
I wanted to make sure we are all clear, there are 2 parts to this thread:

- Part 1 allows you to talk about why you do or not use AMSOIL
- Part 2 was meant for folks that currently use or have used the oil in the past and want to vote YES or NO the products served its purpose, we noticed that many folks that said they would never use ASMOIL they voted in the poll.

keep it fair for yourself , dont try and harm anyone or badmouth, i understand people have opinions in some cases negative but try and be somewhat politically correct i guess.

If you have negative expirience we welcome any oil analysis or testing you may have done to disproove the product, mayority wont have data i understand.

If you have positive expirience we welcome data as well.

thanks

I don't use Amsoil, because I don't see a need to go out of my way to buy fluids, in general. This being said, I'd definitely consider Amsoil if it were easily available locally, say, at my shop.

I was running SSO engine oil but have switched back to motul. The car ran ok on the amsoil, but just runs better on motul. I could tell it didn't let my engine spin as freely as the motul. And I get hands down better gas mileage with motul as well. Plus I get it for a good deal cheaper than I can get amsoil. I'll still probably run motul in the winter though since I have way too many jugs left and I hate doing a lot of oil changes in the winter.

Now I run all motul fluids except superblue for brakes. I probably shouldn't extrapolate my experience with amsoil engine oil to gear oil as well, but motul has served me well for a good price and I don't see any reason to switch.

Ps. Motul is french. Vive la France! lol j/k

I use Amsoil motor oil for the following reasons:

-Fully synthetic
-ZDDP of 1300-1400 (Phos & Zinc)
-High ZDDP content in a street car oil

Oh and I am using their 5w 30 Diesel oil at the moment. The time has come for an oil change but I dont know weather I should continue with the Diesel or try the Z-Rod.
