clutch pedal acting odd

Hi, so I've been drivin my 2005 evo 8 alot, it has 74,500 miles and running well, except im worried about the clutch. Recently, when I push in the clutch pedal it seems easier than before, and it engages way too easy, way easier than before, to the point its vague when the clutch engages. However, the clutch isnt slipping, but the evo does feel like it is lacking some power in the lower revs, any ideas whats going on?? Thank you.

Check your fluid level, look for possible leaks.

the fluid level is normal, thanks for the suggestion though. Any other ideas? this is really making me worried cause I'm afraid I'm gonna make the problem worse if I drive it.

Also it still changes gear normally, and the clutch pedal still comes back up, just the engagement point is extremely vague compared to a few days ago.

maybe its just time for a new clutch. if your fluid level is fine, and the pedal returns, and there's no problems getting it in/out of gear, sounds like the clutch is just worn out.

yup, new clutch solved it, muuch better. I think the previous owner burned out the clutch and according to the mechanic partially the flywheel too cause since i've owned the car its never felt this grabby with the clutch before. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

I would've made sure it wasn't the master or slave cylinders first. Much cheaper than a new clutch, if that's what the problem was. Normally when a clutch goes bad, it just slips. If the pedal pressure changes, then one or both of the clutch cylinders are to blame.

yea, new clutch solved my problem, but it is ridiculously expensive, since we have awd and a smaller car it is more work and greatly raises the cost, I would definitely check the slaves next time or any cheaper solution first should this happen again. Thanks!
