aps cold air

What's yours thoughts on aps cod air intake. I read that cold air is better but isn't what the intercooler is for and does the cold air from the intake get heated from the hot turbo? Let me know what your thoughts thanks

Colder air is more desirable for any car from a performance perspective but some would say the risk of hydrolocking your motor in torrential downpour isn't worth it (I had a friend hydrolock his motor in his Evo and he had a regular intake.......what he thought was a puddle was damn near a river).

Yes any air going into a turbo will get hotter and thats that the intercooler is for.

I didn't know anyone made a cold air intake for the Evo.

^^^ IIRC you remove the IC sprayer bottle for the APS intake. It then travels down to the wheel well area, where the filter sits.

Its a great intake, just keep in mind its a PITA to clean. From what i have read, you have to take off the bumper.

not worth the hassle if you have a quality intercooler. the intercooler is gonna be the biggest factor in supplying the engine with cold air, not the intake
