This is good info! I am planning on buying a stock Evo with 81k for $12k but don't know what to expect after 81k. This makes me buy with confidence!

Mine's at 123k and the only 2 big things that I've done to it are a timing belt service and a tune. It came with an ACT HD?? clutch and the exhaust. I've personally put 68k on the clutch, not sure how many the previous owner put on it. I take better care for this car than any that I've owned. I'm about to replace the clutch this week mainly because I can hear and feel the TOB moaning like Chewbacca

I've got 83,000 on my MY '03 VIII. It should be finally broken in by the time I hit 100K. Mostly stock with a few minor mods. I have tried to stay as close to OEM as I possibly could and still keep the wick properly lit. Drove it at 28psi for about three years on E85, but now that the miles are adding up I've dialed back the boost to 25psi.

My wife says it is way too loud seeing as I'll be 60 on my next birthday. It is definitely far and away the loudest car in our retirement community.

That is great to hear, you got a good one....

My car is 100% stock and had the TC blow, ACD pump fail, and A/C compressor clutches are going poo I turned 53k miles the other day.

I bought mine new and it has 134k and at least 50 track days. Stock bottom end and turbo. I've had the waterpump blow out a freeze plug while running meth on a sub freezing day, and had the trannys synchro replaced about 3 months ago. Other than that, it has been the best car that I've owned. I'm running e85 at 30psi, it is a dedicated track car now. I got a good one...

You bought the car used. All bets are off.

I'll definitely be rocking a modified turbo car when I'm 60.

^^^ I am the OP. You guys don't know me because I rarely post here. Yeah, I'm 56 years old. But I also have run over 250 W2W race and open track days in the past 8 years, and I hold competition licenses from SCCA and NASA. I had an '04 Evo VIII RS that I seriously modded and caged. At one time it had 439 awhp and 383 awtq on a Garret 3076. I tracked that car maybe 75 track days at the road courses of California and Nevada. I liked it so much that I decided to buy another Evo for my daily driver. That was over 5 years ago. I traded in a beautiful Audi S4 on my IX MR. The Audi was a much more expensive car and I liked it, but it got hit hard in an accident and had unibody frame damage. It was repaired to a very high standard, but I never felt the same about it, so I traded it in on the IX, which has been my daily driver ever since.

Since getting the IX, I have owned a Spec Miata race car that I raced for 2 years, a '96 C4 Corvette that I tried to use as a track day car but it was a complete piece of $h!t so I got rid of it, a Honda S2000 which is my current track day car, and finally, a 1992 Acura (Honda) NSX that I just bought a few months ago for running on street, track, and hopefully as an investment because I think NSX prices are going up.

But the IX is still my daily driver, and will remain so for a good long time.
