Lightbulb Gruppe-S Gauge Panel

I just purchased the 52mm Gruppe-S gauge panel and was wondering how everyone is mounting the gauges to the dash? I have just one Defi D-Gauge mechanical boost gauge right now and it just slides in and has a little bit of play but not much. I am thinking something is supposed to be taped around the gauge where it touches the dash to hold it in place? It did not come with any instructions and I couldn't find any on the forums

You have the right idea. Use some tape to build up the thickness for a snug fit.

If you dont have the actual bracket that holds the gauge in a pod, some good ole electrical tape or maksing tape, etc. is the next best thing to hold a loose gauge.

  • I had a friend recommend using a radio bracket and made a giant "U" around the gauges and held them in place with the bolts on the gauges themselves.
  • What gauges is everyone using? I like the look of the Defi BF how they are blacked out when off and amber when on but the boost version they only use metric and I was looking for imperial. Not sure how good ProSports are. I have heard mixed reviews on those
  • I plan to get a wideband, boost, and probably oil pressure. Those 3 seem to be the most popular combo for the Gruppe-S panel? Any other suggestions?

I have this gauge panel in my car with all AEM gauges (Boost, wideband, oil pressure). All gauges came with the small u brackets that hold them in place. They have been in the car for close to 2 yrs and haven't moved at all.

I'm also dealing with this issue. I'm using STRI X-Line series, the outer ring on the gauge won't set all the way flush with the panel.
The far right gauge is being blocked from going all the way in by the radio bracket.
I don't want to do this but I may have to use a dremel to cut some of that area out.
