Evolution with High mileage
Im currently looking to buy an evo 8. Im from Quebec, Canada and most of car imported here are with high mileage!
I found 1 with 86000miles and another one with 96000miles.. Which are nearly stock both of them!
Was wondering, what i should look on it before buying and for future modification, would the high mileage would stop me on this side?!
Thnx for answering

From what I have seen, if these cars are maintained, they really hold up under high mileage. One thing to ask about are highway miles, as I've found that there are a plethora of people who daily drive their Evo's to work, making a 100 mile commute a day. Hope that helps.
If properly Maintained and not beaten the 4G63 can go as long as you let it, my Friend had a Galant VR4 back in the day with almost 300K origional miles, it never had anything more then normal maintenance, before he bought it, we did a compression check on it and it was perfect all across the board, now after my friend had it, it started to have problems cause my friend pushed it beyond its limits and it ended up blowing apart. Good luck and I second that the Evo is an excellent choice.
It depends how well the car was maintained, there are some evo's with 20k miles that have been beaten to death on the track and street, but there are also some with 150k+ that have been properly maintained and run like champions. Just be sure the owner has kept all maintenance records for the car and check that is has not been modified like crazy and put back to stock like most evo's out there.
Also a lot of used car dealers in QC buy high mileage evos that have been beaten to death at auction for super cheap and sell for around $20k (which seems cheap), so watch out if the price is too good to be true.
