Honestly... if you were going to upgrade your seat... I think it would be worth at least CONSIDERING getting a seat that can actually be used legally with a harness. That way you're adding form and function to the car?

Do you have a pic of this cracked back plastic though... apparently I've been living under a rock and haven't seen or heard of this problem yet? It could also be because I only weigh 150 at 6' lol...

Not yet. My car has been at the shop waiting to get buttoned up for almost 3 months (GSC delays and then my buddy is doing this for next to nothing so I have to kinda be patient but I'm ready to pay to get this **** done).

I'm going out of town but I plan to go see the car on Monday next week when its hopefully running. I'll snap some shots then. I think I may have some of when the seats got delivered and when I installed it in the car while it was sitting on jackstands in my garage.

I actually had some Torino 2's on order. When I spoke to Sparco directly they told me the R505 was the direct replacement and after the current crop of Torino2 sold out they would be considered old stock and not replenished. I decided to get a seat they'll have in their line up for a few years in case I have issues. Pretty much the same seat just different designs. I got mine black on black to make it simple.

Ok I just checked and I got no good shots of the seats. I have one kinda of the side and a few of the back. The seats wern't the focus of those pictures. If you want I can post but it would be doing the seats a disservice.

I have been looking in the classifieds for some newer Evo seats. I don't really want the leather Evo seats though.

I don't think there is anything visible without removing the seat from the car, but I can definitely tell the inside bolster on the drivers seat is broken. If you search, you'll see there are quite a few threads about this issue. Some have said that is the main reason the infamous "blue" Evo seats were quickly updated for the newer all black seats.

Infact, here's a thread about how-to fix the broken seats: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-fix-pics.html

I didn't not realize the Torino 2 and R505 were the same seat. They looked different in the pictures I saw. There are still a few places that list the Torino 2's for sale....

I'd like to find a lighter set of seats to shed some weight from my pig.

I had Bride's in the car, they were comfortable and looked good, but no slots for the anti-sub straps required by my racing org, so I replaced them with Sparco's and haven't looked back. I have Sparco Evo's and I honestly think they are the most comfortable seat I've ever had in a car. Driving in a "regular" seat is frankly uncomfortable for me now as I'm sliding all around and don't have lateral support. I think the Sparco seats are very well priced, look awesome, and feel comfortable. They have a few different models to fit various body types. I use the basic "Evo" seat with fixed mounts (no sliders/rails) and 6-point Takata harnesses.

Here's a picture of the Sparco's from my garage album...
