Evo IX 2-Step doesnt work
well i just picked up a Evo IX. The 2 Step does not work. i cant figure out why it does not work. It is set at 5.5k to 2 step but nothing happens. Anyone know what it could be?
If you are talking about the factory 5,500 RPM limit that Mitsubishi gives the car to protect the drive train from abuse, I'm pretty sure that's easily disabled. So unless you bought the car new, the previous owner probably had it turned off.

That is not true. If you have the e-brake on you can actually use it to hold the car perfectly still to ensure 2-step is working correctly. Push the clutch in, put the car into 1st, pull the e-brake up, then ease the rpms up to 5500.

More than likely you need to reflash (tune) your pcm, probably the stationary rev limit it's not set up properly in your rom.Good luck !
