p0401 code
Under/behind the throttle body on the back of the engine.
This should help you. Check the vac hose first.

I had a vac hose pop off of mine and it ran like poo until I got it back on. Was a very fast fix.
Hopefully that is all it is for you as well.
It seems a lot of people ziptie the things back on.

I had the same code p0401 pop up, verified with evoscan and it said it was insufficient egr flow. A quick check around the vacuum lines and i found the hose for the egr valve hanging loose. im happy again, one more day w/o the SES light!
I am once again reminded of how helpful this forum can be. I recently had the "Service Engine Soon" light come on in my original owner, stock 2003 EVO VIII. I took it to my local Auto Zone to have the code read; P0401 EGR related. I get back home, search P0401 on the evolutionm website, and find the common problem of the vacuum hose to the EGR valve coming off. I go to the car, reach under the throttle body, and sure enough the vacuum hose is off. I put it back on, reset the SES light, and it am good to go. Thanks to all that take the time to share their experiences and knowledge!
