P0401 Help

I have searched and searched the forum on how to fix this problem. Amost all of the posts mention a tube on the bottom of the throttle body. I have checked the tube (I think I checked the right one) and it appears to be fine. Is there anything else I can check? I do not want to do the EGR removal option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are two hoses, did you make sure both were on?

My 401 came on last week. One of the hoses came off. But after clearing it and installing with a zip-tie, code still comes back after a few days.

Thinking time to buy an EGR. At least this one lasted a while,LOL

When are you doing the replacement? I was considering the same thing. What is the part number for the EGR? Please don't flame me if it is already posted somewhere.

Thanks

take out the egr and clean it with a screw driver and gum out/carb cleaner then if the check light still comes on it has to be the egr solenoid..located on the opposite side of the egr valve.

The problem is fixed. It was a hose. It felt like they we on good at first. Decided to try to take them off and make sure the hoses did not have any cracks then reconnect. As soon as I did, one fell right off. Reconnected it better and added a zip tie. Car running much better, and the code is gone.

Thanks for helping me to troubleshoot the problem.
