I get 14-15mpg city and highway about 25mpg.

Too much boosting in the city to tell you the truth.

with a 14 gallon tank that would actually average out to 21.4 mpg

Keep in mind that now a days most v8's (and v6's) have cylinder management to cut cylinders for mpg's... and I should also state alot of fuel economy is not just all about HP and engine size.... emissions, rolling resistance from tires, bearngs, transmission....etc... down to wt. and drag..
compariing z06 27mpg vs evo 24mpg... that 3mpg is easily just the all time AWD system if you wanted to keep everything else even.

Just as a note, you still begin to see fuel economy numbers getting closer 4cyl, v6, and v8...for highway until displacement of 4cyl get very small like <1.6l.. those should still be pretty high
