Unhappy In the shop! =(

I just curbbed my wheels in the snow storm. All my alignment is off, and when I take it past 60 the cars steering wheels shakes! Hopefully this wont cost too much. Does anyone know or have an idea how much I will have to pay to get this fixed? Show me some numbers.

If its just the rim that needs to be replaced it will cost you between 420 and 500 bucks for another one. Alignment is standard fare.

My wheel shakes a bit over 60 too. I just had new tires installed and balanced, so I know it's not that. Next up on my list is an alignment to see if that cures the problem. I've just been too lazy to get it done. If that doesn't fix it, then what? New wheel bearings? I'll be interested to hear what your diagnosis is.

As far as prices... I think alignments are anywhere from about $60 to $100 for a 4-wheel alignment, depending on where you go. I did some research and the front wheel bearing assemblies are about $110 each. I dunno how much install would be on those, but it's probably not that difficult of a job.

It depends on what they're doing to it. What exactly is included in the estimate? They should tell you estimated parts and labor prices.

I dont know if its any different, but when i had my tie rods replaced on a FWD 2G eclipse it was only ~400 bucks, basically the guy told me was about 2-3 hours of labor. Not sure if that helps you out? 720 seems a bit steep.
