hi this is my second evo i owned and my wastegate never sounded like this can someone tell me why and how can i fix it thank u ima post a vid of it how it sounds at full boost at 24 psi on e85 on a t/3 25g turbo

Can't hear anything except that sport bike. And thats a street racing video.

 

thats sounds in the background is the wastegate sounds like its surging bad so i was asking dose a wastegate sounds like that cus it sounds wierd for a evo

 

Are you sure that's the wastegate? Sounds like a gnarly misfire or something to me. Also, the TiAL wastegates are the most commonly copied ones out there, as far as I know. Are you sure your w/g is a genuine TiAL?

btw- I'm pretty sure street racing vids are against the rules. Go record a video that shows the sound better and shows less street racing.

 

yea the wastegate is a real tia 44mm and it sounds like that but ima try to take another vid with no street racing

 

wrong spring

 

so u think a wrong spring is the cause of all this chatter

 

your running it off a solenoid, not a mbc right? sounds like typical solenoid controlled ewg chatter but a little slower. run it off strait wastegae boost and see if it still does it. if not, its normal.

to run it off wastegate pressure, hook the boost referance line to the side port and leave the top port to vent.

 

yes you need a stiffer spring...do you have a boost gauge? if so you will see the boost taper when you hear the noise its not holding boost.

 

boost is not steady it jumps around and im running a grimspeed boost contooler on ecu boost map with wastegate pressure

so ima need a new stiffer spring and ima mes around with the lines

 

yup I put stiffer springs in mine and got rid of ebc for the grimspeed mbc. Nice and simple and it works.
