Oil Pressure + Temperature Gauge Discussion
You want to tap the oil press off the filter housing, you want the highest oil pressure reading cause that is where your bearings are going to see the pressure, off the head is going to be low pressure and will not give you the delta that you're looking for compared to the oil filter housing if you have a problem.

I use the stock ports on the stock filter housing for my oil pressure and temp gauges. They are put in with Teflon tape. Been a couple years now with daily driving to canyon runs to hard parking it and I've never had any kind of leaks or vibration issues and that's with a solid mount roll stopper in the car.

1. Money on seat time & brakes & pads & fluid & tires.
2. Had a baby
3. Low priority
I also don't want to install my gauges and then have to do it all over again after all my parts get installed. It's easier to do the EGT, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp after all the mods are "done" so to speak.
With the Boost and Wideband, they don't really impact all that much and are far easier to install.
Does anyone run their oil temp sensor off the oil pan? I'm thinking about welding a bung on the pan for my temp sensor. I've already got my pressure sensor and turbo feed line off the filter housing and don't want to run one of those adapter plates. Any opinions or input?

I've seen a few people that do that, but IIRC you will get lower temp readings because the oil is sitting in the sump vs. taking a reading of the oil that's circulating through the system.
This is why it's a good idea to use the OEM plugs to place your sensor:
