Did anyone ever think that maybe Dave is just looking out for others in the community that he has worked so hard in for 20 years?? I myself find it retarded as well about all the oooohs and ahhhhs over an 11k rpm car.. Maybe im old school but i dont care what a TACH reads i care what the time clock reads at the end of the track.. again maybe its me but i might prefer an evo that revs 9k that runs 8s over one that turns 11k and runs.......... well nobody really knows because they wont run it..

How long do you think it lasts at that RPM on the street??? 99.9% of the people on the forum dont have what it takes to maintain an 11k RPM car.. Nobody wants to see anyone get taken for a ride drinking this 11k rpm koolaid thats being sold.. I have had multiple people ask me can we get their car built to rev 11k.. My answer is SURE i can do it but WHY?? Im in business to make $$ right?? i should just sell them 5000.00 valve springs right??? Well i cat do that.. I have to sleep at night knowing i just sold a guy a bunch of parts he didnt need..

I personally have been just sitting back and enjoying the show but I know Dave.. He takes this stuff to heart because he is an Evo Enthusiast 100x more than he is a salesman.. If he was a salesman you would see 5000 threads on here saying BUMP with BR parts but you dont do you?? You see threads of dave giving 1000000000s of hours of technical advice and personal findings to better the community.. So before you attack him try to understand where he is coming from..

As for the comment about ET being on a another level vs 99.9% of the shops here.. Id like an answer to what they have accomplished to prove this next level your stating?? Im out of lines in my signature so i retired and quit breaking records cause EVOM wouldnt allow me any more lines in my signature.. So i guess we are part of that .1% you speak of.. Thanks!!!

Mike

Awesome post Mike.

Dave Buschur is the most passionate 4g63 enthusiast on this site.

Revs are Revs. Power is Power. Time talks and time goes way beyond Revs and Power, that's really all I have to say.

You make a car with tons of power and revs to go fast, and if it can't go fast... ??? Whats the point?

Kind of like those decorative pillows on my GF's bed, I still get confused when something so useful has the usefulness taken out of it...

btw, with me, this thread accomplished DB's mission exactly.

I'd never heard of a 4G63 revving to 11K before so I thought it was unheard of. Now I know better thanks to David Buschur. His testing threads have been one of the single most helpful and amazing things about EvoM to me.

Thank you, David.

+1

As far as I'm concerned buschur is the Godfather of 4g63 tuning and modifications. Hopefully I can afford to cram a BR2.3 in my engine bay one day.

Well I had a question since this thread is to educate the forum. I've heard of 4g63's being reved that high before but never saw such good video of one in a nice street evo.

The ET build is a good job in my book, although I think the lag will not be very competitive against a BR or any other shop build here with the same cash.
Only impressive part I saw was the clutch and quick shifting.. DB/AWD what is your opinion on that?

By the Way I think DB is true asset to evom and AWD is the only shop that I brought my cars too that did excellent repairs!

AWD certainly did get it right....

Every shop can do and have done what they are doing. Buschur, AMS, AWD, IVEY TUNE, ETS..... the list of proven shops that can reproduce the build is endless. I am not trying to toss in more controversay however, everyone was in AWWWW of the AMS Blue Demon build. Freeking awesome car, could it have been done and reproduced by any one of these shops, I 110% say yes...

Are they (ET) going to put that engine down the strip or on a race track to see how those compenents hold up at higher power levels for long periods of time??

Competition is always good and keeps people honest, but true facts are very hard to deny. Dave said it best, the shops that have and continue to prove themselves will always be around.

Dave, I have never agreed with all of your posts but without a doubt always some of the most informative. With that I know myself and many many others do appreciate.

Completely agree DB, dude this is like kids now a days thinking that all this clothing styles and music and all this is new now, but the same $hit was done 30 -40 years ago with a lot less. We should all be glad that we are all getting educated by a man like this. Is all about generations, almost like it starts from zero to us,"Yeah I did this or that" and we think that we are the pioneers of it. Well thanks to guys like you that keep schooling us and bringing us down from the stars when we see videos like that, that we youngsters thought it was unheard of, but was made years ago. Man keep it up, and real !!! I am sick of how sensitive this forums have become. This is what we need to hear.

funny you mention clothes coming back. If you look at tennis shoes at a shoe store, 80 percent of the wall is "re releases" I was surprised to see shoes I bought 15 years ago on the shelf rereleased along with many others. Things repeat themselves. It also explains why very very very few new inventions emerge, just tons and tons of patents patenting patents for further patents to the invention.

Im not bashing ET saying every part in the car is no good.. He may be on to something with a great clutch setup in that car.. I was just pointing out the whole focus is on the magic 11k RPM.. I see it all the time too.. I have guys here crispeed tunes their s2000 and these all motor guys wanna see 10k rpm.. while the power band is dead after 9000 and the car is down like 50hp all motor from 9-10k they insist on revving to the moon cause it has that cool factor..

Realistically 9000 rpm is all you need to get the job done in a street car.. I would put my RS up against anything ET built.. this thing hooked dead on the street and made plenty of street $$$.. I dont have any in car video show how it shifts inside but if you watch the final pass the 1-2 shift was gettin it done.. Buschur Powered 4g63 from top to bottom.. I drove this car 100 miles each way from miami to WPB cleaning up 1000+hp vettes & Bikes at night on the streets with no issues..

What a horrible pass I bet ET's billet titanium everything will do that in 7's! HAHAHAHA! On a serious note quick question for AWD your built block and head ball park figure please but how much did it cost you? And I think I seen some where ET's titanium cams are upwards of $6K. I much perfer a BR motor and head at these prices.

David Buschur......... THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD! i GET IT, i see the same thing happening with the gen coupes and new evos and 370z's ect, ect, for the majority of modders, its not about balance and driveability its all about having the "OVERBUILT" parts and the "race part" this and "race part" that, i think 450-500whp in an evo is MORE than enough for the street (but we could all know power is like crack). I also think mitsu did a pretty damn good job with building and designing the motors in our cars (they spent YEARS and $$$,$$$,$$$ developing and testing the EVO and what do people do? change out engine and aero body parts without thinking about the REAL effect on performance), NEWER doesn't always mean BETTER. I think the japanese philosophy on tunning still hasn't caught on here but hopefully it does. Performance shouldn't sacrifice the balance of the car, i mean damn nissan/datsun was reving higher than 11krpm's back in the 70's!

And think about how much performance they had back then, in the early 80's nissan raced a 280zx with 600hp and OWNED. that was BACK IN THE DAY before all the advanced tech we have now, its sad to say but i really don't think many people are reaching the full potential of their cars with the parts they have due to the fact they aren't as educated as they should be. I don't claim to know everything but i really wish i was closer to a big shop, i think AWD is like 6-7hrs away from me. But when i do finally decide to get my ride together i'll tune for reliable good power, instead of going for the golden egg.

P.S.- i might be deploying in january, i may have to ship my car out to dave and see what he can do with it lol
