using octane booster in place of meth??
as stated earlier in this thread, torco accelerator is the only octane booster that works. on my old sti i was tuned on pump then pump + torco and picked up 40hp and 50lb/ft at the wheels on a more aggressive tune. it pretty much turns pump into 100 octane.

Black ICE FTW! I run meth and I CANT see how octane boost run in the system would produce any gains AT ALL. Maybe the guy just likes to say he "sprays" his car. Plus that octane boost has got to be higher than methanol is. I get 5 gallons locally for $35, 5 gallons of octane boost would be redonkulous!

Ok, first and foremost.... I'm slightly confused by this comment " he said its safer because his spray is very low and its made to go right in the tank so if it fales it wont cause any damage."
its safer.. so when if fails there's no concern for your engine.... meaning it must not be tuned aggressively to even take advantage of having higher octane anyways so what is the point?
I can run meth all day but only thing it may do is lower some intake temps, but I certainly won't get any real power without adding some timing or boost so it doesn't make any sense to me.
Octane booster can be made many ways, and that is including adding methanol... so essentially its a very similar condition as to how it is injected to your normal water/meth injection. If its either running it through your primary injectors or finding a secondary injection method are all along the same lines.
What is needed to consider is what benefit does it have over another method, cost, accessability, performance... what ever it maybe
and secondly, you'll need to properly tune for it in any which way to squeeze out the benefits, otherwise what exactly are you doing it for?
Food for thought
