Question NEED Help..Side transmission mount nut size?

Hey All... I noticed today when I was working on the car that on the Driver Side Transmission mount (by the battery tray and IC piping, that one of the nuts was off the stud.

I didn't get to take a picture but found a picture of the exact location. IT IS NOT THE PARTS CIRCLED. Just the picture as reference of those nuts holding that base and mount to the transmission.

I could not take off any of the others as it was on real good and didn't want to put strain on the tranny as well to check the size. From what I thought I read somewhere it is a 17mm nut but I don't know the thread/pitch of the nut itself.

I am heading out and will be by a home depot and a lowes that might have it so please respond asap if you know anything, I will be checking on my phone.

Thanks.

It is a 17mm nut but i don't know the thread pitch. Maybe just grab a few metric ones that look to be the same. Use what works, then return the rest? Good luck.

Ok, lets just say its not a 17mm. For reference later, you dont use the size of the socket it takes to remove the nut to determine its size. Its likey a 12mm x 1.50. I dont know this for sure so you need to due your do diligence--but i would start there. FYI-- get a micrometer and measure the diameter of the bolt the nut goes on to..hence the 12mm, and the thread pitch is something you would have to work on, or get a thread gauge, but there are not a lot of fine pitch 12mm bolts, so dont think its .125, hence the 1.50 pitch.

I know the socket isn't the size. I gave all info on location. I posted here hoping people had the data. Hoping to get hold of russel from mitsubishiparts.com. couldn't find in Evo parts manual.

That stud is a 14mx1.25 Most metric stuff is all 1.25 pitch. For metrics a general rule of thumb is that the socket size is 4mm larger than the actual bolt size, obviously this doesn't work for all sizes (17mm socket is a 14mm bolt), but most others.
