Cam Suggestions

I am trying to figure out what Cam setup would be the best for my weekend driver evo 8. I cruise with it here and there and Street drag it once in awhile. Prolly take it for a cross country vegas trip this summer

Mod List: E.T.S. UICP+LICP and Air intake, 3"TBE w/cat-delete, 255 wablro, evo 9 bov, Omni 4 bar, Grimmspeed 3 port, tuned by 4WSTUNING!!! 312whp now. Many other mods that are irrelevant to this. Future mod will be a FP turbo setup just not sure which one yet.

Any suggestions would be *****. Thankx much
Luke

GSC S2...possibly the best upgrade on my bolt on evo 8.

Everyone will say S2, S1, or Kelford 272. Upgrade the springs and retainers while you are in there!

Are you saying to upgrade the springs and retainers or others will say to?? I know the GSC S2s your required to upgrade the other stuff right? Also some sights say the S2s arent suggested for stock turbo setups

while its apart you might as well upgrade the springs and retainers, its cheap insurance. I run gsc s2's and couldnt be happier. Also i have seen alot of success with the kelfords with similar mods as you.

You can but not suggested being there is a chance you will float a valve and that leads to big trouble.

I am suggesting to upgrade the springs and retainers, other will also tell you this. Yes, most aftermarket cams require upgrading the springs and retainers based on the lift.

S2s have proven to be great on the stock 8 and 9 turbo. There is a thread title "big cams, litte turbo"..check it out. I can safely say I netted at least 35awhp just from the S2 cams alone. I do not see any loss of spool low end and the mid range and top end just pull and pull.

PM me if you want to hear about my set up to compare to yours.

lol, 70? no...not at all. maybe on an fp black with e85.

30-40whp is realistic for your stock setup.

He was saying at like 7000rpm is possible but it may just be a selling point in his defense. Either way 40whp is a damn good gain if you know anything about whp.
Im geussing GSC has some sort of suggestion for springs and retainers when it comes to dropping in some S2s?

Yes it is possible to see a 70 whp gain at higher rpms.

That doesn't mean that your peak whp will be 70 whp higher.

The GSC S2 cams will allow you to be closer to peak whp longer into the higher rpm range.
