Its amazing that people are finally realizing this..

Also, the cars reputation is becoming more and more legendary, which means there are people looking for these cars and competing to buy them.. So the value goes up a bit because of that. The more track records records and stories people hear about, the more they want these cars.

Wait until there are no more CT9A cars (when the X comes out) the value of the CT9A will go up even more..

I'm going to total mine out right now!!!!

I think in 2003 most buyers ended up paying MSRP and they might have took a hit when it was time to sell. I have the window sticker from mine and it priced out at $32k. I paid $10k less in 2004 with only 11k miles.

For insurance purposes the value might be high but on this forum and ebay I often see them selling dirt cheap. I think its because there alot of high rollers with these cars and they can afford to take the loss to move the car quick. That or its a low roller that bit off more than they could chew.

As long as you aren't in a hurry to sell there should be a strong market for the EVO. Hell AWD DSMs are still selling for more than they are really worth and they dont handle for **** and break all the time.

from personal experience if you can get any parts then do it then sell it, your best bet is to let insurance take care of your car.... buying it back will only lead to headaches unless you have a quick turnaround with another buyer, but for $8k shhheesshhh take it! and buy your IX!!!!

Good to know the Evo doesn't depreciate as rapidly as other cars.

Evo's depreciate a whole lot worse then other cars. I wouldn't take what insurance paid you as any sort of indication. I check up with Evo prices often and unless you have a car thats got no modifications, new tires, and dealer service records, you're not going to get anywhere near what you want for your car.

We have a whole thread dedicated to how the Evo depreciates less, then you claim it is worse than others? Whats your proof? I researched kbb as well as talked to my dealership. Do you know how much an average car depreciates? You will never get what you truly want for your car, but the point of this thread is the Evo loses LESS value than most cars, especially other Mitsus.

www.edmunds.com

$10K first year of ownership. Thats deprecation of the Gods right there.

From their website:

$23,304 - $28,268 Private resale- Which is about what I've noticed based on 06 models(MR) for sale.

Compare that to a Honda Civic Si (~$23k)

$14,293 - $23,433
