Evo's Trade in/Resale Value [MERGED]
So you're thinking about losing 4-5 thousand dollars in order to go from an exciting, awesome car to a boring, slow, low-end SUV, all because you don't want to get an O2 sensor fixed? Does that seem stupid to anyone else?
My advice would be to take the car back to stock and sell off the parts. A stock evo is reliable and far more fun than a pilot. From what you've said, it doesn't sound like the Evo is the problem- it's the money and mods that are making your car unreliable and your wife upset. Maybe this problem can be solved in a more fun and easy way than buying an obsolete SUV. And is your warranty really dead? IF you return the car to stock your chances are good that your warranty will stick around.

Not to be stupid (seriously), but if you want a car where you never have to have it worked on, and never have any problems but you just want to go fast, the Evo is NOT your car.
I also own a 2006 Pilot EX-L. It's a very nice vehicle - smooth, quiet, comfortable. Hondas are very reliable and it seems like you're getting a decent price/trade-in offer. But you will miss the Evo for sure. Driving the Evo, for me, is a spiritual experience. Driving the Pilot is, well, you know
If you want my opinion and well you do since you asked, sell it! Run from the import scene as fast as you can. I think that you are asking because deep down you know that this car could be a potential money pit for you and you are scared. Believe me it is a money pit, the more you do the better she performs and the more you want to do. If you are a scared now with as little as you have done it is better for you to cash out and buy the Honda.
Good Luck,

Yeah, the oil changes are a tad more expensive than other cars and it doesn't get the best mileage but really, you could do much worse than the Evo.

it's official, the IX is gone. I traded it in for a 2007 honda pilot EX. I will wait a couple more years until my little guy is a bit bigger than get a evo X. And for the people who thought I was full of s***, when I said I was offered 29,000 for the car, Thats what I got for the car. I was also given the pilot for 29,000. so I'm finance 27,000 @492 a month. Not all salesmen are a******. See you guys when the X comes out.

i don't get why you would do all these modifications to your car and then get pissed off that it's not running correctly, or your car is throwing codes. and now you want to get rid of it for a minivan/suv or whatever. why did you not get that in the first place. just doesn't make sense to me.
but, it's not my car or my problem.
