Evo's Trade in/Resale Value [MERGED]
Eh, the evo seems like it'll retain a good price value regardless of the movie. Fast speed + AWD = respectable resale value...
...I just better not be looked at as a fanboy who got a Evo just because it was in fast and furious flicks :|
....
Because my real reason for getting one is of course how it kicks *** in NFS Most Wanted! C'mon... 180mph collissions and it doesn't wreck?!?! Outrun police helicopters?!?!? SIGN ME UP!!

I don't think the movie will affect the resale value that much. However, I do think it will really affect bragging rights. People who know the car, but don't know its potential will see it in the movie then see it on the street and be like whoa.
Evo prices wont skyrocket, however I do forsee some really great resale prices June next year when Evos are not found on dealer lots (no 2007 production), especially for MR's.
I wont be surprised to see MR's with 10k-15k miles going for 2-3k under original MSRP during that time.

In the 2F&2F, it wasnt even an EVO 7. I went and saw it this previous weekend and parked far away. Came out people were standing around the car (I guess those that went to the previous show). I did get one question about drifting, Someone in the crowd told her the difference between AWD and RWD. I did get a couple of "rev it up." I decided to slowly get out of there shifting at 3000 rpm. Would have taken another car if I had one, but since this is my ONLY car, had no choice.
A honda civic did try to do donuts in the parking lot when I was walking to the car. we ended up at a light together and revved on me, my friend rolled the passenger window down and said "Slow it down before I whip my ***** out and show who your daddy is." Funniest thing, the civic never passed us.

I hope the Evo resail does skyrocket! I hope it goes up so high that teenages can't afford it and it leaves it to people with some class and taste that are willing to respect the vehicle. I already bought mine and if your replying to this thread then chances are so have you. But with any respectable version of the Evo stopping from production it is bound to go up.

Also, I think the movies are cool to watch but it only hurts our cars when young kids try to race or drift and end up killing themeselves or someone around them. I was just commenting that this will probably close the franchise due to the US loss in this market being deamed a huge failure.
I will give an example. Mission Impossible III made about 117 million in the US. I think the movie cost over 200 million after three directors and other mishaps. The movie made over 300 million world wide so is it a failure? They made money on the movie and yet every magazine article I have read claims it is a huge failure in the box office. It will end the Mission Impossible franchise! That was my point...they may make money globaly but I doubt you will see a fourth movie.
