EVO IX MR SRS light on

So, I don't know when the problem started, but the light came on. The light stays on all the time, until one random day it went off, then it came back on. And hasn't gone off again.
I have no idea where I can start checking for any possible sensors or faulty wring. Id rather not pay Mitsubishi an arm and a leg right away. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Scan the car or ask someone local to scan it for you.

Not gonna happen with a standard OBDII scanner. This is the SRS light not the CEL. I would look to the wiring in the driver kick panel and the Crash sensors under the hood (They are Yellow)

As for a place to read the SRS computer you're looking to a body shop or dealer.

That "annoying" light is there to let you know something is wrong with the safety system; you know, the one that protects you in a crash? Also, you won't pass an inspection and I believe can be fined for it

When I bought my Evo it had the SRS light on. I took it to a body shop and they could read the SRS codes, took all of 5 minutes and they didn't charge me. Turns out the airbag in my steering wheel was faulty, and was easy enough to replace myself.

Call around to local body shops, most of them have the capability to read the code and they usually won't charge you an arm and a leg, if at all.

Removing the light doesnt not get rid of the problem, unfortunately, I will know im not driving with an airbag system.
I will take a look at those sensors.
Thanks for the input!

You do any work to your car at all? Mine came on when I reinstalled my intake the harness for the front crash sensor was not connected all the way. I had mine reset when I got my car tuned last weekend.
