Exclamation Mitsubishi knows about us

My local Mitsubishi service manager was bragging to me today that Mitsubishi had banned warrantee repair on an EVO because of posts in the internet from the owner. They read his posts, determined that he was racing, and determined who it was. I haven't done anything to get banned but using my license as a name would be a major problem if I did.
I'm a newbie so forgive me if this is old news.

That's horse****...it would never hold up in a court of law...for all we know, the guy could be bull****ting... would have no proof other than some guy who claimed to be someone claimed to be racing...let them try that **** with me!

i agree,
i could put bull**** 1/4 mile time or top speed. how r they gonna prove if they didn't witness the race or have STRONG evidence.

just be careful when going to race tracks because sometimes there're gonna be mitsu district reps that takes pics and ****, at least based on what i read here so far

There are a few EVO owners on here that have a disclaimer basically saying that anything they say on here could be them lying to gain acceptance from other forum members.....don't know it works but its usually a huge signature that starts off with some legal jargon.

I think that depends on the dealer.

Some dealers try to get every penny they can out of every customer. Because nobody ever goes to those dealers twice.

Other dealers understand the concept of customer relations and repeat business.

You never hear a Ferrari dealer ask if you've been racing.

Well, when you go to the track, cover your VIN number with a blank business card and cover your plates with duct tape.

Pictures mean nothing if they can't prove the car you were in at the track is the same as the car you're bringing in for service.

I'm not sure if it would hold up, but this disclaimer has been attached to my sig ever since I first read about this happening. I copied/pasted w/permission! I also took out info about my car from my username.

The car is no longer theirs. If they spent their money on quality assurance and repairing manufacturer defects instead of paying people to surf web pages to find and identify modding owners and people to spy at dragways then we all would have a lot less to worry/complain about.

Hey Mitsu, since you're reading...Get a F'ing clue. You don't create a future for your company buy incriminating your buyers. Remember, WE buy cars, some of us will buy many more. You WANT us to buy more Mitsubishis. It's called Buyer Loyalty and if you learn this (which by the above stated actions, you HAVE NOT) then perhaps Mitsubishi could become another strong company like your direct competition, i.e. Honda, Nissan, and Toyota.

He's conning you. In order to determine your identity, Mitsu would have to issue a subpeona to the website. It would involve a lot of work and legal maneuvering that would not be worth the efforts. He might be putting that out there to scare owners a little.

Mitsubishi SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WARRANTY ABUSE. Plain and simple, if someone takes their car and hammers it as hard as racing does then they should step up themselves and accept whatever consequences that produces. These are high performance personal vehicles, NOT RACE CARS. They more closely resemble roadracing cars but certainly not drag cars.

Oh, and if you put some bs at the bottom of your posts you'll never have a problem with warranty. It magically protects you and eliminates all issues. NOT!
