I believe a dealer option was a factory alarm. Did anyone get it?
If so, how much (approx) did you pay, and do you like it? Does it change the remote fob?

The EVO does come with a factory securtiy system: engine immobolizer. But to my knowledge, I don't think they have an option for an alarm. I would consider it if they had one. I heard that the STI included a factory alarm. Does anyone know if that is true.

ack. thanks for the correction. Kind of hard to believe tho. (Not because it's necessary, but they missed out on a way to make more money)

Quick Test...

Go out to your car and unluck the door with keyless..
Start car and roll down window..

Shut off car and exit locking the vehicle with the keyless..

Wait a minute or two..

reach in and opent the door from the inside..

Any noises?? If you heard LOTS of honking and ****, you have an alarm standard..

If you dont, you have a Lancer ES..

I got the alarm and I think it was the biggest mistake I ever made when I purchased the car. I could get 100 times better thing for the price of this crap.
