Boost... HKS EVC 6 Install...

Does anyone know what the STOCK boost levels are for an Evo VIII.

I've been told many different figures, ranging from 14psi up to 22psi.

My boost gauge shows 22psi tapering to 18psi.

I have recently installed a HKS EVC 6.

Should I be setting this to 22psi and hold? I have tried but my controller is having a hard time reaching over 15psi when the target boost is set to 22...

Sorry... I re-read my original post. Before I installed the EVC, I was getting 22 tapering to 18. With the EVC installed, it struggles to get past 15psi when the target boost is set to 22. It's a long way off and something I didn't expect.

That boost controller plug into the OEM plug? Your ECU is prob not letting it boost if so. Do you have evoscan and a tactrix cable?

Ive left the stock boost controlling solenoid plugged in and capped off. Can I just un-plug the solenoid without any problems?
I do have evoscan but need to buy the proper cable from them. I had a OBDII cable already, but it doesn't like evoscan - just will not connect.

I haven't set my waste gate to anything. Didn't even realise you could. I thought it was a spring...

After a bit more experimenting, if I set my EVC target boost to 26psi, it will hit 22...

I haven't actually... I need to sit down for an hour with the manual and go through it again... I'll just do a master reset and see if I can get it right...

Just read up on the HKS website about no reaching target boost... I didn't realise that "standard maximum boost" was WG pressure... Jeez... Why didn't they just write that in the manual!!

Yeah man I bought my car with one in it and after hours of trying to figure it out I went to a mbc then back to the hks and did a master reset and set everything including the way the manual said including the wg boost to 11.4 and offset to 0 and I did target perfect besides a spike up one or two lbs I know I have an exhaust leak and prolly boost leak but I went though the same problem and I reset and just did the initial settings and it works great now
