Weird Tail Lights/Reverse Lights

So I noticed that my reverse lights were always a dim, blueish type of light and then more recently, the driver side went out and the passenger side started "strobeing". I went to pepboys and bought new reverse lights and when I pulled my tails off, low and behold they didn't fit. I resembled them and switched the lights and they both worked, but were still dim. Then today, the driver side went out and the passenger started to strobe again.

So my car has LED reverse lights that randomly seem to go on and off and strobe whenever they feel like it. My question is what kind of mod is this? I didn't see any obvious signs of soldering or tampering with the reverse lights. Is there a way to undo it and get regular reverse lights, if not, can someone provide me with a link of the brights *whitest* LEDs that will fit.

Thanks.

I've never taken my bulbs out but if there is no tampering anywhere u should just be able to take the led bulb out and put in a plain old school bulb. Where did you get the bulbs from? napa? autozone? dealer?

Edit: Just saw pepboys. Alot of aftermarket companies don't have the correct parts for evos, Try to find a vendor on here or use the dealer.

ah okay, I was gonna say the bulbs that I bought at pepboys, the connecter was about half the size as the LED one that was in there. At first I thought it was the LED being different, but I'll look into some vendors, thanks for the information

Bumping this up again cause I couldn't seem to find a vendor. Also if anyone is reading this and has a pair of taillights laying around that they are trying to sell or what have you, could you snap a picture of the bulb and the connector isn't self? I just want to double check at make sure nothing was changed, though I don't see any signs of soldering or tampering.

Vendor's PM me please

They sell aftermarket LED bulbs that fit into the factory connectors...maybe someone jerry rigged something up to make these LED lights fit?

I just picked up a pair of LED reverse bulbs and it is a simple plug and play setup. Just unplug factory bulb and plug in new LED upgraded unit.

Like Vivid said, take a few pics to show us what you are talking about.

Left is the bulb Pepboy's sold to me

Right is the bulb I pulled from the reverse lights

obviously far right is the connector

I dont have any good pictures of the wiring, but there was a black and red wire coming out of the connector as shown, the black wire met up with the other 3 black wires coming out of the other 3 lights and connected to 1 wire, I think the red just went right to the harness
