STM, extremepsi, slowboyracing were pretty cheap a year ago when I did mine.

What do you consider a "full kit"? I bought my Gates timing belt and balancer belt from Ebay for $127.00 shipped, and bought the seals from the dealer, also bought a Gates water pump from Napa for $57.00,i've personally installed this WP on many of my customers cars with no longevity issues, watch out for "full kits" that include extra stuff you may not really need, like tensioners and pulleys,i worked at a Mitsubishi dealer for quite a while and we never replaced timing belt tensioners or pulleys with the timing belt packages,as far as O.E.M. or Gates you can't go wrong with either one, hope info is useful.

This is bad advice. The main reasons why timing belts fail on 4g63's is because of either bad tensioners or pullies failing. Why skimp out on such a important part of your engine and risk catastrophic engine failure?

A full kit should include both belts (timing and balance shaft belts), all pullies, water pump, and tensioner. Some even come with the acc. belt.

So even though this is recommended by Mitsubishi you didn't do it?

I wouldn't mess around with something like this, buy OEM parts only as this is probably the most important service you will have to perform on your car for a while. I would go to the dealer and buy a kit there if you can't find any deals from vendors.

Remember the timing belt/tensioner can cause a lot of issues if not installed correctly! A costly mistake that can be avoided with the proper parts and install (read the FAQ on the install on evoM).

Always replace autotensioner, main tensioner and tensioner bolt... Anyone that tells you its not needed, run far away from.
