Play in driveshaft

So I have a considerable amount of play in my drive shaft when I push it by hand and I get clunks during shifts. I was wondering what the bushings are called that actually hold the driveshaft up in place as they seem to be the problem. Are there any other bushings I should also replace down there while im at it?

If I'm not mistaken, those are just the inserts for the carrier mount. From your description, it sounds like your rubber bearing mount is worn out.

Also, I think the clunking can come from the mustache bar? Maybe someone else can confirm.

If its clunking during hard shifts, you either need to shift smoother. Or get a set of rear diff bushings.

Not on hard shifts during shifts normally.

sounds like a carrier bushing, wraps around the driveshaft.

Yep. Also known as a prop shaft bearing. They should have slight play, but not excessive.
I've heard of people with AWD T/E/Ls & GVR4s remove them and fill them with some sort of rubber sealant.
