Injector removal and Installation 1 65.00 65.00
BOOST SOLENOID ASSEMBLY 77.70

ECU DYNO TUNING DSM AND EVOLUTION 8-10 2 200.00 400.00
E85 tuning should be done on a separate day from your 91 octane tune. This is to ensure there is no remaining 91 gasoline in the tank. Please burn through 5 tanks of E85 before the E85 dyno tuning session. The initial dual map setup will include a conservative E85 base map. Final E85 dyno is an additional charge.
0.00 0.00T E85 tune 1.5 200.00 300.00
so my question is do I need all this to convert to e85??? it seems like over kill
another tuner is quoating around 800 this includes a reflash and dyno runs
my car currently boosts at 24 to 25 psi and has a hallman MBC...so why by a different one? that would save $150, then 100 to check installed parts and 100 for vacc leak
my car runs excellent do I need these added expences???

This is a reasonable quote for an E-85 conversion. If you know how to work on your Evo you could save yourself the money for installation and boost leak test.
This quote they gave you is making sure that everything on your car is working correctly and tuning your Evo on a mustang dyno. From looking at the quote I can tell that they want you to make the most power on your E-85 tune so this is a reasonable price.
Your Evo will spool up faster and hold more boost with a boost solenoid. IMO, it is worth the extra money.

ECU boost is used mainly because it can be set for both maps 91 and e-85 and thers no messing with a MBC. If you do your own work you can save some cash by doing your own boost leak test buying your own 3-port the GM 3-port is like 65bucks and very simple to install so you save on parts and labor. I do agree you should burn a few tanks of e-85 before the final tune. Also were in cali are you located?

I'm a firm believer in the base tune, then retune after a few tanks of e85. It's been shown that tuning right after draining the tank can result in ethanol contents around 75-80%. That said, that tuning price seems pretty high. I think I know what shop that is, and while it's expensive, it's still probably a break compared to how much time he'll spend on your car. If this is the shop I'm thinking of, he spent about 4-5 hours on mine and only charged for 2.
