Removing under cover

I planning to do something stuff which requires me to jack up the car. I read the jacking lift points are in front of the car and in the rear. I noticed there is the plastic piece in the front of the car blocking the lift point. What's the best way to remove the piece in order for me to jack up the car? Do I jack it up from another point just to remove this cover? If so, where? BTW, it's IX MR SE. Thanks!

I read that wasn't recommended because the side jackpoints are fragile and will bend and get damage?? Is this wrong?

Use the front or rear tow hooks if you can, this is the only way i jack up my car because the lift points are fragile, not so much in the front if you lift where the metal overlaps but in the back they just crumple.

I normally use the side jackpoints and have noticed they tend to "wear"
But I still jack em up from the side!

As for getting the lift point cover off you could use ramps if you have them. These work great for the entire job if not working on suspension. Otherwise, I think you are left with getting the cover off while the car is on the pavement. And, yeah, the lift points are the side rails, the rear differential and the front lift point. I only use the side rails with the OEM jack and I don't consider the OEM jack safe for working on the vehicle.

There is a place where the metal is thick enough to make it a perfect location for resting the car on jack stands. It is located behind the front wheel wells.
