I have a evo 8 with a stock motor and turbo, I upgraded the uicp and licp and a intercooler, also I did a full turboback buschur exhaust system. My question is, will my car be ok for a while without a tune because I have my 1st child on the way and at the moment I don't have the time or the cash to tune her. Will my car be ok without a tune for a while and occasion of punching it lmfao... Thank you

It shouldn't be too bad, however I would get tuned as soon as you have the chance.

Do you have a wideband? Has the car ever been previously tuned?

 

No, the car has never been tuned.

 

The car idles like I have cams lol

 

Since the car's never been tuned I wouldn't beat on it too much since you can't know if it's knocking or not. Better safe than sorry.

 

Ok thank you, yea it drives beautiful, I get great gas mileage and it's sounds great when I'm driving normal, it is very responsive as well, it's just when at idle it revs up and down, which sounds nice but was just a little sketchy.

 

If you haven't turned up the boost or anything, chances are you're just fine. Youre just leaving a lot of power on the table with no tune, but I'm sure you know this. As stated before, I wouldn't beat on it too hard. It is better to be safe.

 

Yea the turbo Is at stock boost right now.... But I hardly ever beat on her, she really is baby'd lol

 

to be on the safe side, dont beat on it and hit redline and you'll be ok. i've been driving around with manifold/o2 housing/ tbe for a while but i dont beat on it. stock everything as well.

 

Yea if I do reach boost, I bring it to 5,000 and then switch gears, it's nothing crazy but I understand completely what your saying
