EVOLUTION V RS or GSR?!

I'm just curious... how many people here are in for the RS and the GSR?! I personally would go for the RS, I want to know your opinion...

Truth is the RS seems more vigorous because of the tranny, but the features just lack a lot. However the windows wind down like it's powered anyway huh?!

Please add your opinions and since I'm new to this, I'd like to have new EVO friends... thanks brothers!

You mean the 1998 EVO V, right?

Where do you live? If you are living in LHD European countries, you wouldn't be able to find a GSR since it only came in RHD format.

Aside from that, what's the purpose for that car? If it's your only car, go for the GSR. The RS II also fits into that mix.

The RS has too little amenities to compensate you daily life IMO.

Good luck.

I see, Lucky you.

As some of our European members here stated that the EVO V RS is probably the "truest" EVO (No AYC but mechanical LSD, quick steering rack, wider than EVO IV) in the series.

Do you have the GSR or the RS?

RS

i got the RS... it hasn't disappointed me one bit.

however i'd like those brembos on them wheels... i understand it came out an option here when it was released locally. but not a lot was released, just 18 here to the exact... GSRs and RS's combined which is pretty cool.

Mate, without hesitation go for the RS. I know you have to wind down the windows and you will get hot, but the car is much more focused. If you intend on track/racing of any kind, the weight you save will be such an advantage, and reduce the stress on the brakes, tries, ‘box, etc, etc.

I have an Evo4 RS and I don't see what people find so hard about using an RS for daily driving, wind down windows are not that bad, but mine does come with aircon so im cheating a little .

And the RS's do make nimble cars, being around 100kg's lighter than a GSR and having short gearing they just pick up and go.

Have fun with your evo5, my evo4 is great fun to drive and i'm sure an evo5 is more fun than that.

Also pretty much all the GSR features are options for the RS as you can specify aircon, power windows, recaro's etc to come with it. So you can sometimes find RS's with some comfort items, like mine with aircon.

We just have the VIII's to consider here. From what I've seen I'd like the VIII RS with a modified UJ package. I've got to have the a/c because it's just too hot here. I'd also like the power locks with keyless remote. I want wind up windows though to save weight and complexity.

I'll gladly accept any Evo variation I'm given though.

EVO V RS? no problem....I have two friends using the EVO VI RS as daily cars and despite of the fact they lack some toys (A/C, E/W, P/W) they proved that real "toys" are definitly inside.
Just upgrade your brake discs and enjoy your car...
