You can either get a used one off the forums (~3-400$), have it rebuilt (600$), or buy the rebuild kit and do it yourself (215$).

Info regarding rebuilds is available here:

Ahh I remember seeing yoru post awhiles back. hey listen before you start plunking yoru money everywhere my best advice to you would be to first check the resevoir and the lines for little leaks. Then bleed the system until there is no air through the checkvalve.

Bench bleed it through the bleeder cup this is a two man effort so ask someone for your help on it. Ive created a diy for this on youtube to properly help you. If the light doesnt go back to a single light then your pump is probably on its way out so do not drive the car.

Good idea; try bleeding it first and see if it works afterwards. I would even say open it up and take a look at the parts to check for corrosion. Clean everything up, reassemble it, and bleed it. That got mine to work for a while when I did it (failed again after another track day though, at which point I bought a used one)

Geez man don't scare the guy. It's completely safe to drive the car with the lights on. I've been doing it for 30K miles and I"ve read others who have done the same. I'll be rebuilding my pump in a month or so and I'll post my results. Until then OP follow impact blues directions to narrow down and be certain that the pump has failed.

i brought my car to paramus mitsubishi for diagnosis. they checked everything and bled the pump but the lights still come on. they've ruled that the pump needs replacement. i don't think i can buy a new one so i'm checking my options.

will you be rebuilding yours yourself?

I'm going to do the rebuild myself.... acd-tuning has a couple of options you can buy the parts from them or you can have them rebuild the pump for you with a 2 year warranty for 1/3 of the price of a new pump or you can buy the parts diy.

Do some more research, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself talk to matt at acd-t.

I'm in MA....just got back from vacation so I need to get caught up at work (and house/yardwork) before I take a crack at the rebuild. But first I need to order the parts. Shoot me a PM when you get started.

Dave, if the pump does fail, wouldn't it be possible that the motor would run continuously and burn up the coils (I think that's what happened to my car's ACD after the pump corroded). Would it be sensible really to run the car that long?
